MEXICANA
Mexican motifs were all the rage in the 1930's and brightly colored Fiesta was part of that look. Every china company of the day offered at least one Mexican decaled dinnerware line as well. This is one of the most recognizable, having been used on Homer Laughlin's Century dinnerware line as well as their Kitchen Kraft. This decal even graced the wares of several other manufacturers, and is quite beloved by collectors. This recreation of the Mexicana decal is applied to white Fiesta (as well as on some non-Homer Laughlin accessory items). Taking our cue from a 1930's HLC designer who paired Mexicana patterned Century cups with solid color Fiesta saucers, we used solid cobalt saucers and used cobalt blue striping on the handles. It also looks great accenting a mixed set of solid glazed Scarlet, Sunflower, and Tangerine Fiesta as well.
